Security Deposit Assistance

The Salina Housing Authority has received a $75,000 grant from HUD HOME Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Program through the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation. The TBRA program objective is to provide affordable, safe, sanitary housing to low-income households. Salina Housing Authority will be using these funds to provide security deposit assistance to qualified households.

To qualify for the TBRA Program, a participant’s household income must fall at or below 60% of the area median income as established by HUD for Saline County as listed below:

1 person $25,380

2 person $28,980

3 person $32,580

4 person $36,180

5 person $39,120

6 person $42,000

7 person $44,880

8 person $47,760

Applicants must be a resident of the City of Salina, complete an application and be approved for assistance prior to move-in. Documentation, including a current, government issued photo id, social security cards and third party income verification, are required for completed applications. Rental units selected must pass U.S. Housing and Urban Development Housing Quality Standard inspections prior to move-in.

Applicants will be processed on a first come first served basis with preference to the homeless and those with a rent burden of over 50% of their income.

Beginning November 15, 2017, applications are available during business hours at the housing authority office located 469 South 5th in Salina.
