The Salina Housing Authority owns and leases 163 units. There are single family houses, duplexes, triplexes and quadplexes ranging from 1 to 5 bedrooms.
Applications are taken daily for 2-5 bedroom units. When completing an application, applicants must provide a current photo identification for anyone 18 years of age or older and social security cards for every member of the household.
Once applicants reach the top of the waiting list the Housing Authority completes an eligibility check on every applicant. This includes income verification, criminal background, past rental history, and a credit check.
If applicants are determined eligible for assistance, we offer them a home to live in and the rent paid to SHA is about 30% of your current income.
